Nadi History

Nadi Astrology is an ancient system of wisdom that dates back over 3,000 years. The knowledge was first recorded by enlightened Rishis (sages) who possessed profound insight into human life and destiny. These sages meticulously documented the entire life journey of individuals on palm leaf manuscripts, written in ancient Tamil script.

Each manuscript contains detailed information about a person’s past life experiences, present circumstances, and future events, along with advice and remedies to overcome obstacles. Unlike generic astrology, Nadi Astrology was designed to provide highly personalized guidance, reflecting the unique path of each individual.

The system was formalized by 18 great Siddhars, including Agasthyar, Kalangi Nathar, Konganaar, Sivavakkiyar, Idaikadar, and Bogar. These sages not only contributed significantly to Tamil literature and philosophy, but also ensured their knowledge would benefit generations to come, writing down comprehensive life details for posterity.

Over the centuries, the palm leaf manuscripts were carefully preserved by the Valluvars, expert scholars who served the Pallava kings. The Valluvars developed specialized skills to decipher and interpret the ancient scripts, ensuring the accuracy and authenticity of the predictions.

This knowledge was meticulously passed down through generations, maintaining the integrity and sacredness of Nadi Astrology. Only trained experts with deep understanding of the scriptures could interpret the manuscripts correctly, making it a highly respected and specialized practice.

In 1802, our family established the Siva Nadi Centre at Vaitheeswaran Koil, a revered temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, the divine healer. Belonging to the Meikanda Nadhar Gotra and devoted followers of Shaivism, our family has continued this sacred tradition as 4th-generation Nadi astrologers, serving people from all walks of life.
